My Gym Kids

One of my most fun moments in life is that I get to teach at a power tumbling gym three nights a week. I have been doing this for about six years, and it is a never boring, always crazy job. I get the joy of coaching the beginner classes with tumbling and trampoline. There is such awe in a three yr old's face when they first learn to roll, or jump on the trampoline, or learn a cartwheel. I love that I am giving the basics to a future high school/college cheerleader, or that I may have taught a future olympic trampolinist.

Tonight one of my favorite kids just jumped up and hugged me as soon as I saw him. His dad said, that every morning he wakes up and asks if today is his tumbling day. Things like that completely warm my heart. My girls can always be found on a trampoline or helping with a class some way when they are not taking their own classes. We are like a big family over there, and I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge my evening job. By the way the photo is of my 10 yr old, Rebecca, when she was competing junior olympic trampoline. She has awesome kickouts!
