I love to put notes in the girl's lunchboxes. I used to keep a stack of fun little prayer cards and rotate those into their lunches. Not only did the girls enjoy getting their daily affirmations, but they couldn't wait to show them off.
Now I have a new set of cards that I am really excited about. Manifest Your Magnificence are wonderful cards that not only affirm qualities in your kids they explain them on the opposite side so it helps each quality feel real. Here is an example of one of the cards.

Now let me tell you how I have used them personally to help Regan and Rebecca. You know, honestly, it is tough having girls ages 13 and 10......because that is when self-doubt sets in. They begin to question if I tell them they are talented or not. I see it a lot in the girls and their friends. Their brains are already working overtime telling them they are not that special.
So here is the daily challenge. Each of the girls gets one card ( a different one each day) in their lunchboxes. During lunchtime they have to figure out if they have already shown that talent at some point that morning, or it becomes their challenge for the rest of the day.
For Example....Rebecca had the "genius" card shown above. She told me that was the day she decided to present her principal with the idea of starting a "Cougars for Christ" club at school. The plan was to get interested students together on Monday mornings a few minutes before school starts to pray for the student body and staff as each school week began. She had been sitting on this idea for several weeks but was unsure of how to approach the principal with it. The card helped encourage her to express her ideas and hope for a good output. I believe the first meeting will be in two weeks.
She was so excited to share how well her assignment had gone. In the last week or so, even the girls' friends have gotten in on the action. They share the cards with their friends at lunch, and everyone tries to come up with ways to fulfill the cards. Yesterday one of Rebecca's friends couldn't wait to tell me how she had been a "shining star" that day.
I encourage everyone to help their child Manifest Your Magnificence because that is our future, and we want them to be empowered and capable leaders one day.
