Well today was a great day for Cougar Basketball. For the first time in the school's over 100 year history the boys and girls basketball teams have gone undefeated. We are a little tickled that the girl's team even did as well as this.
You may have heard me mention before that the girl's go to a rural country school. There are around 130 kids preK- 8th grade. The teams tend to be small and they have players from 5th-8th grade on the teams. This year a lot of the girl's didn't even want to play basketball (too lazy), so we ended up with a team of 10 girls, and Rebecca was one of 3 5th graders on the team. The games are fun (there are five other rural schools they compete against) because the 5th graders are so tiny compared to the 8th graders. In fact Rebecca is the smallest on the team by far. Sometimes she spends all of her time on the court just jumping to try and reach the ball from the girl she is supposed to be guarding. She looks like a rabbit bouncing around.
Anyway, congratulations Cougars.....now on to track season which starts on Monday.
