Swine Flu and the School System

Living in South Texas means that Swine Flu is the main topic of conversation everywhere we go. The girl's school has suspended all game play with other schools (well actually the whole state did). The big track meet they were all looking forward to next week with two other schools has given way to a field day with just our own kids. All field trips are up in the air as of now, and some school districts in the San Antonio area have closed. There is talk that we may close soon too.

I am wondering what else will change for us in the next few weeks. Will they suspend Little League Games? If they shut down the school temporarily will we have to make it up. Regan leaves for camp two days after school lets out, and we had already missed several days for Hurricane Ike earlier this year.

John Mark leaves for California on Saturday. How closely are they looking at airline flights leaving San Antonio? It is eerie how last week it was a remote sickness that was unfortunately happening across the border. It is completely different when you look around and wonder how your life is about to be affected.
