Seriously though, Regan, I hate that you are growing up! Because as much as you are growing into a wonderful young lady, and I enjoy you and all your precious quirks (No Offense), but it is getting harder to find things for you to do like the other 7th graders due to your developing normally female form.
No longer can I feel comfortable sending her to friends houses for their mom's to do things like bathroom transitions or helping her dress if she spent the night away. We have noticed the number of overnight invitations dropping over the last two years, and this is no way indicative of her friends (people just love Regan), but unless I go with her. She doesn't go to the dances and parties her other junior high friends are doing. More and more she is with me at my side at weddings and parties. It used to be fine for her to run around, and all of our friends had no problems helping her with any of her needs. We pretty much had several homes where the mom's knew how to help her, but with a mature young lady....it all changes.
So now she goes to school on Monday mornings and learns of the out of town Laser Tag party, and the overnight trip, the pool party.....all things where it was not personal to Regan but the kids wanted a party their way and not adapted.
So I have been trying to come up with creative outlets for Regan to take the place of these things. For Example: the girls blog Random Monkeys. She is interested in Web design, and pretty much anything tech related. She is looking forward to summer camp and reuniting with her summer friends. She has also been on the lookout for a good pen pal that has CP, and is similar to her. Anyone have any other suggestions? Good Suggestions Only Though.....No Offense!
