Geocaching the Day Away

If I could have lived my life differently I would have been Indiana Jones in female form. I would travel to remote locations and find glorious historical artifacts that change the world. Since I can't seem to mesh my dream with my reality....I settle for being a geocacher.

What is geocaching....have you not heard about the ultra fun world wide phenomonon? If you have a GPS this is something you want to get in on. The basic premise is a lot of people have hidden containers all over the world from small film containers to very large themed boxes. Basically you go to Geocaching.com and put in your zip code and it will show you the treasures hidden around your area.

Today I took Rebecca and her friend K around out town to do the six local ones. It was a fun morning and some were challenging to find, and some were very easy. One thing for sure we had a lot of fun. I keep a small bag in my car that I throw in small toys, buttons, junk jewelry, stickers. etc and those are the items I leave as treasures, with every item you leave you can take an item and sign the log that says you found it.

We have quite a few of the girls friends who have gotten addicted to geocaching with us, and are always asking when we are going again, and if they can go to. Today was K's first time to go and she had a blast. Since her dad had gotten a GPS for Christmas she was excited to be able to share the game with her family.
