I Don't Understand the Twilight Hype

I am sure I will get flack for this, but Jen (my sister) and I were discussing what seems to be the mecca of all things literature these days......Twilight.

Yes, I read it.

Yes, it was a good read and I enjoyed it.

but, what is with all the hype? It was a good book....but not great. I enjoyed it, but really it was just another teen romance novel, until the last few chapters...which finally got my attention. I have read a ton of romance novels in my life....I get it...they are odd and find each other. Mix in some vampires, and it was a little more interesting....but, I really do not like a helpless female character.

I plan to read the next in the series in the next few days, when I have finished the other three novels that I am getting through first, and really that to me says it all. I was not excited enough to jump it to the head of the line. Go ahead and tell me how insanely crazy I am, I can take it.
